This past week was so full of blessings. First off my son, Harrison GRADUATED preschool!!! We are so excited for him. The preschoolers put on a great performance in the church. They sang, they signed, they graduated!! It was wonderful. Everyone was in tears and the kids couldn't have been happier. Saturday we had a field trip with the girl scouts to the aquarium in Gaitlinburg, TN. We had an amazing day!

Jon and I have grown a lot in the last week. We have been going out of our way to spend time with each other while the kids are in school. We have been going on walks and fishing together, ALONE!!! It has been amazing. Sometime it is so easy to neglect our relationship but our family has truly thrived on our happiness together. I have also been busy typing out the Rosary so it is easier for Caitlin and Caylin to say it along with us. I have also laminated lunch box prayers, so they will remember to say them. We are really working on living within our means!! This is so hard. We are making a baking day so we can make our own breads.

Harrison is playing a wonderful math game and it is really helping him improve his skills. You can get a free trial at http://www.dreambox.com/. The only problem I have with it is he wants to stay on the computer all day. That's about it this week. Let go and let God.

Caylin and Caitlin the day of their First Communion! What a beautiful day!

Tuesday, 21 April 2009

One of my favorite photos. My daughters First Communion April 15, 2006. One of the best days. Sorry just thought I would share.
Since I have been gone I have been thinking about several subjects.
Homeschooling my 3 children. Weight loss. Moving.
We have been at the hospital twice this month. One of my twins, Angelica fell in the back yard and had to get 6 Stitches in her eyebrow. On Easter another twin had to be taken to the hospital because she had an allergic reaction. The problem with that is we have no idea what she could be allergic to.
My daughters all stared in the play The Wizard of Oz at school. Taylor was the Wicked Witch she was incredible. Angelica was one of the main Munchkins and she was really great. They both remembered their lines and got over the jitters. We are very proud.
Taylor is in the gifted program, she is also part of Duke Tip and now we found out that she is going to be able to take classes at Eastern Kentucky University this summer. As for Angelica we are working with her to bring up her test scores, she is just a couple of points away from Taylor's. We are also preparing for our little boy's preschool graduation. We have already paid for his cap and gown and his class ring.
We have decided that it would be best for our family to move this summer. Really it is very exciting, we can't wait to get to that next step in our lives. We are also thinking very hard about homeschooling. Jon thinks isn't sure about this idea but I really think it will be great. They are really missing out on religious education. Plus living in a small town they really don't have Catholic friends to relate to. They really have to explain our faith a lot.
This week we are going to work on praying together before school. This is the prayer that we will say.....
Prayer before Study or Instructions
Incomprehensible Creator, the true Fountain of light and only Author of all knowledge: deign, we beseech Thee, to enlighten our understanding, and to remove from us all darkness of sin and ignorance. Thou, who makest eloquent the tongues of those who lack utterance, direct our tongues, and pour on our lips the grace of thy blessing. Give us a diligent and obedient spirit, quickness of apprehension, capacity of retaining, and the powerful assistance of Thy holy grace; that what we hear or learn we may apply to Thy honor and the eternal salvation of our own souls. Amen.

Something I always like to keep in mind as I go through the week is Proverbs 31:28-29
Her children rise up and praise her, her husband extols her: "Many are the women of proven worth, but you have excelled them all."
That is the type of person I want to be.

Reflecting on the Day....

Today was a rough day. I have a daughter with an ear infection, crankiness all around me. I am having to reflect on certain friendships. It has been really hard. I am taking a break from one friend and had to totally cut off another. Although I feel it is my duty to help those in need, I also feel as if I need to know when to cut my losses. I can't always be surrounded by negative energy. I also can't let anyone disrespect my husband, my family, or me. I really feel horrible for these people and I will continue to pray for them.
I didn't get to exercise today, but I was able to start a menu plan. I would love to get a months menu made. So I will keep trying. I will make a menu for one week today.
GOALS for 03/03/2009
  • I will get at least one hour and half of exercise in.
  • Make menu for week two
  • Go over the second Station of the Cross
  • LENT TREE
  • Study a prayer with the kids
  • Laundry
  • Meditate

Tonight I will make sure that I pray to have more patience with others. Patience is after all a virtue!!!
